Thanks for mentioning #SEK3 in your essay. I think that Dave Friedman used "capitalism" in his title because his dad, Milton, used the term a lot, as did Ayn Rand, and he was fighting the losing fight to rehabilitate the term from its disparagement by the commies. But "Radical Free Markets" does make much more sense.

And it was Iceland. Friedman fils certainly liked writing and talking about Iceland's Thing, their term for an assembly of free men, which became the more formal Althing. (But you knew that — I'm just informing people too lazy to read the book; maybe they will now.)

Your 40,000 foot perspective is much appreciated by me. Thank you. Taylor Caldwell tried to warn us in the prefaces of her later books. One of her other books”Dear and Glorious Physician “ about the early life of St. Luke is especially good.
