Love the Bucky Trim Tab quote you opened with - one of my favorites. Now all we need is a fleet of trim tabs who are willing to take their opportunities as they find them. Yeah, the phrase: "targets of opportunity" has always had a nice ring to it :)

I especially liked what he did there at the end with the "whole ship of state goes" bit. That was splendid. Errybody thinking "goes where you want it" and Bucky saying "goes." lol

My friend, there are a lot of trim tabs around. We need to be in touch so we don't all cancel one another out, but there's a lot to be done, for sure. Opportunities of tar-zhay as it were.

Trims tabs.

On a smaller boat we use them to offset the weight of cargo or people on the boat which is not always the same.

We have 2 tabs one one each side of the transom. Port and Starboard, too much weight on one side gets offset by the tab.

This keeps the boat on plane. It keeps things level.

It keeps things decent and orderly.

It enables the boat to keep moving in a straight line.

Trim tabs are useless if they are just floating around in the water. They need to be attached to a boat to be of any use.

Folks love the boat it looks beautiful in the water moving along, the trim tabs are not usually noticed.

Who wants to be a trim tab?

Trim tabs have a lot of pressure on them when they get used.

They hold up under pressure.

When you talk about decency and how it seems in these days of modern times it is thrown away as useless.

This is sad but true.

What in God's name is wrong with decency?

My self does not mind being called out for being inaccurate or even incorrect.

It is not fun nor is it easy being incorrect or inaccurate.

That alone is it's own wage of death.

It always bring me back to the Gospel of Jesus.

Was thinkin of Stephen , the guy who was stoned.

Thinking of what that must have felt like , being hit with rocks from an angry mob.

Not really sure, duck and cover, try and grab stones and throw them back?

But what Stephen did just amazes me.

It says He saw the Son of Man standing at the right hand of the Father ( which angered the angry even more).

One place Jesus Spoke and said don't you think I could call down a legion of Angels to defend me?

Imagine as Stephen stood there bloody and broken could have asked Jesus for anything in His name.

Jesus told them that before that if they ask anything in His name he would do it.

This is the part that gets me.

My self , am sure would have at least said Lord save me from this pain and suffering and maybe even give this angry mob a good pounding.

But Nope, Not Stephen, He asked Lord forgive them they do not know what they are doing.

This thought has given me a new perspective on where we be these days.

It is ok to be a trim tab, even a joy.

Down here on the bottom of a transom not even controlling my own self but receiving signals from the Captain how to move.

Not even knowing what the captain is doing only what he needs from me.

Thanks Jim for your inspirations, arrangements and excellent wordsmithing.

Peace on your house from this Trousered Ape! :)

Braveheart is my favorite movie of all time. So right there I fell in love with this post. And according to Geni, Princess Isabella was one of my grandmothers, a few generations ago. Very thoughtful post. So much to think about. ❤️
