Once again Jim, you're not wrong. A quick tidbit of info re the term " Beyond The Pale" from an Irishman's perspective ( & no, Sleepy Joe ain't a real Irishman) - *" The expression was first used in Ireland way back in the 13th century, to describe people who lived outside the parts of Ireland controlled by the British."* (source -http://www.irishletter.com/irefact-where-the-expression-beyond-the-pale-came-from ) So, the term 'BTP' has a colloquial meaning of uncouth-ness but as Web3/DeFi beckons we see that living beyond the pale (outside State ability to enforce it's dictates) today is a prudent survival strategy.

It is an excellent bit of historical perspective, thanks! I knew that "the pale" meant the stockade walls made of pales, or strong stakes driven into the ground in a row and sharpened at the tops. See also "palisade." Of course, I don't mind being outside the city walls, myself. Indeed, I am quite content to be outside "British" or Venetian control, entirely.

With regard to metaphorical as well as literal fixed fortifications, I'm reminded of the words of George Patton. He said that fixed fortifications were monuments to the stupidity of mankind. Mountains and oceans can be overcome. Anything built by man can be overcome. That's especially true when we consider the dimwits in positions of governmental authority, who are mostly focused on their corrupt practices and their enduring worship of the artefacts of human hands.

God bless you my friend. May you and your family have abundant blessings this year and every year. Amen.

The Biden? I don't know what to say. I think his daddy will "sign" a pardon for him. In the same sense that rogue Joe does anything these days.

It is difficult to bear. I would not have thought these things were possible in our country when I was growing up. I sensed that there were things wrong, even giving the valedictory speech to my high school graduating class in 1981. But there still seemed to be many people who cared, and many who would do the right thing because it was right. I think those people are still around, but not in positions of power.

I am truly grateful to you, Charlotte, for your writings and for your interactions here on Substack. A year ago it often felt like I was speaking into a void, an emptiness that would never be filled. But you, Demi, Tess, and many others have made things much better by having kind things to say to one another and to me. Thank you. God bless you and your family in these difficult times. Amen.
