Jesus told us to “Cure the sick, raise the dead to life..."
Matthew 10:8
Since you are not signed up for cryonics I guess you're out of luck and you won't make it past the lake of fire.. we are the only people trying to raise the Dead
You seem to have not read the book of Matthew very closely. I suggest you take a look at the raising of Lazarus from the dead and the raising of Tabitha from death. You might also notice in the book of Acts the apostles raising the dead.
You are not in fact in current possession of any human beings who are raised from cryonics deep freeze. I would be delighted to see you guys succeed. I would be curious if the revived body came to be occupied by the same soul.
I don't think you know what consciousness is let alone in what part of the universe it is found. What if the soul and memory aren't stored in the brain? If the brain is a hugely complex and ramified reticulum of antennas, what happens when you unfreeze a friend? Are they going to be "in there" when you do?
And if your technology isn't necessary for the raising of the dead and eternal life in heaven, would you please stop yelling at me? kthx
Jesus raised Lazarus and then told his followers to do the same things that he did and even go do greater things so he wants us to raise the dead and race all Humanity from the dead, and we cryose are in the process of doing this it's going to take a long time but it's a process and we are doing it and we are the only people on Earth who are doing it. Is if all the rest as for all the rest of the stuff you talked about we are simply doing what Jesus told us to do, raise the Dead
I do understand the great commandment. Jesus used the power of God to raise people from the dead directly to life. The gospel of St. John chapter 11 verses 38 to 44 describes the raising of Lazarus. Acts 9 36-42 tells the raising of Tabitha by St. Peter. The gospel of St. Mark chapter 5, verses 22 to 42 describes the raising by Jesus of the daughter of Jairus and the healing of a woman who was many years with an issue of blood. St. Mark doesn't give us the name of either the young lady or the older lady in his account.
I am not against you. I am for you. A technology for putting people to "cold sleep" is, as you know, discussed in Heinlein's _The Door Into Summer_ and in the films "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "2010: The Year We Make Contact". We can note that HAL 9000 was less helpful in the first film than he seems to be in the second, and the cryonic preservation of some of the science team in the first film is terminated by the "crazy computer intelligence" as a sort of plot device. "See you next Wednesday" from the first film was so impressive that John Landis has spent his entire career including it in films ever since 2001 came out.
But I am not convinced that Jesus asked us to raise people from cold sleep. With God, all things are possible, and so it is possible for that to happen. And it may be that God wills it that we also raise the extremely frozen heads and bodies through the power of God. But at no time were Lazarus or Tabitha or the daughter of Jairus frozen. Jesus, Peter, and Jesus in the several instances simply raised them up. Room temperature, as it were, the whole time, until they are back to life. In Acts 20, St. Paul gave a long talk that was so dull and lengthy that Eutychus fell asleep, fell out of a window from "the third loft" and died. But St. Paul raised him up from the dead, and they all went and had an even longer talk, though I suspect people stayed away from the windows if they started to get drowsy.
So, I am not saying that "you're doing it wrong." I am saying that in our long journey to the stars, it may be very useful to use cold sleep for some of the travellers. But I don't think any of the bodies being stored cryogenically today are "asleep" in the science fiction "cold sleep for exploring the far reaches of the Solar system or galaxy" sense. They are dead bodies. Well, and dead heads. Which has got to be a strangeness to the fans of Jerry Garcia.
How is that part of raising them from cold sleep going? I was there in 1985 or so when Mike Darwin had a dog he had resuscitated from freezing, and again in 1995 with Ralph Merkle when a hamster or something was resuscitated from freezing with warm blood after some time with its heart off. Both animals seemed okay. How far up the hierarchy of mammals have you gotten? And how cold have you gone?
The work you are doing is an important area of technological exploration, I believe. I feel encouraged by the Holy Spirit to learn more. The part about growing new bodies for the heads, I'm still a little iffy about.
Let us pray: Eternal Father, on our long journey to the stars we seek to be able to use technologies like cold sleep and cryonic preservation. Please guide us to do so in a way that never creates an abomination. Please help our understanding and our patients, by giving us ingenuity and patience. Amen.
