“War does not determine who is right. It only determines who is left.” ~ newspaper, Saskatoon, Canada, 1931
This post will cover four important topics. First, I’ll go over the conditions of the “2-country solution,” and point out how it is distinct from a 3-country solution to the situation in Israel and Palestine. Second, I’ll discuss the importance of God’s commandment that we love our neighbour, a commandment found not only in the New Testament but also amongst the prophecies of the prophets of the Old Testament. Third, it is important to understand that Christian Zionism is heresy. Fourth, Jesus is the Messiah and that has important consequences for the current conflicts in the Middle East and throughout the world.
Judæa
The title of this essay is “Anti-war Answers” because we are conducting a graduate seminar in War and Anti-War studies. Today’s seminar is free. We’re not a degree granting institution. There are going to be tests later, so do take the studies seriously.
Long ago I was on a highway in New Mexico. I was travelling alone to a gathering in Arizona. There was a woman dressed in white walking by the side of the highway. I felt the Holy Spirit guide me, and I pulled over a ways ahead of her. I got my things out of the passenger seat and passenger foot well, opened the door, and she hurried up and got in. She was going to Gallup, the next city on the highway.
After a brief exchange to introduce ourselves she looked at me and said, “God wants you to know that when God gives you a test, you should pass the test. Otherwise, you have to take the test again.” So I knew why I had picked up this particular hitchhiker. Less than an hour later I had dropped her at her destination in Gallup and was back on the highway. I mention this experience in the context of the upcoming tests. It is not me who will be administering the tests, and so you should look for the presence of God in your life. Be at peace. God loves you and wants you to be happy. God wants you to pass the tests. So there are make up tests. That doesn’t mean that the tests are any easier if you take them again and again. It means that God wants you to pass the tests. Praise God. Amen.
There is a book by Alvin and Heidi Toffler called War and Anti-War. I very strongly recommend you read it. It’s a really good book. Today’s seminar will focus on the Anti-War parts. But you don’t need to read the book before class, you can read it any time. And you are in a seminar, so you should feel encouraged to ask questions. In fact, you should know that I am hugely enthusiastic for questions on this post, on all my past posts, and on my various notes. As TIKHistory says on his YouTube channel, the understanding of history lies in the heart of the debate. Be thou blessed. Amen.
The subtitle of this essay is “for Judæa.” So, what is Judæa? It is not exactly “Judah” which was the name of one of the two old kingdoms after the reign of Solomon and had been the name of one of the 12 sons of Jacob who came to be known as Israel. Judæa is the name of a Roman province. You can look it up.
There are many maps of Judæa. Here is one.
The Roman Republic conquered Judæa during the third war against Mithridates in the year we denote “63 BC” or as the communists demand, “63 BCE” where BC means “before Christ” and BCE means “before the common era”. (A lengthy distraction is possible here with regard to the febrile minds who worked out the dates of the chronology such as we have it so that Jesus Christ was supposedly born in 4 BC. And we’re supposed to regard these fools as authoritative. lol) It was the Roman general Pompey who won that war, sacked Jerusalem, and created the province of Syria. Pompey established a ruler over the province, as Romans were often prone to finding some local schmuck to put in charge. In this case, Pompey found Hyrcanus II willing to take the job of “ethnarch” and high priest.
Pompey was one of the so-called “triumvirate” which included Crassus and Julius Caesar. At the very end of the decadent and flailing mess still calling itself the Roman Republic, there were three strong leaders. Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, Marcus Licinius Crassus, and Gaius Julius Caesar were the three. We refer to the Gnaeus fellow as Pompey because, let’s face it, English doesn’t handle the “GN” thing very well. It’s gnu to me. Yes, “magnus” is “the great” so accusations of pomposity were not unknown in his day.
Later, Julius Caesar would put in Antipater who was succeeded by one of the kings named Herod. The Herod of 40 BC was proclaimed king of Judæa by the Roman senate during the early years of the Roman empire. Various Herod men were king of Judæa or ethnarch. One of them slaughtered the innocent children around Bethlehem, fearing the new king born there. Some were admired by the Pharisees, some weren’t. It gets tedious, and it is all ancient history at this point.
At this point (Anno Domini 2023), there are a group of psychopaths who claim to be the government of Israel taxing and extorting the millions of inhabitants of Israel and attacking violently the inhabitants of neighbouring areas. So, I have chosen to refer to the area by its Roman province name because I don’t see any reason to dignify the claims of the terrorist group Irgun which Albert Einstein compared to the Nazis and described as a “terrorist, right wing, chauvinist organization.”
Today there is a war in Gaza. I think it’s important and interesting that the war is still somewhat localised, but you can see a lot of indications that it has the potential to spread rapidly. There are USA military outposts in Kurdistan, Syria, and Iraq that are being attacked by drones supposedly associated with rebel groups backed by Iran. (I say supposedly because I don’t take any of the hoax stream media accounts as reliable sources of information, given their perfidy going back to the 1890s. I also don’t recall any congressional declaration of war against Syria, but the bonds of the constitution, as feeble as they are, were broken through long ago.) There are rockets and drones being flown in from Yemen, at least some of which have apparently been interdicted by USA military vessels in the Red sea. Hezbollah is making noises about opposing Israeli aggression in Gaza, but so far that seems to be largely a matter of showboating, with many weeks having passed and little action. The Israeli military has bombed the Damascus airports on more than one occasion in these same weeks.
So, today’s graduate seminar is Anti-War Answers for Judæa. Let’s dig in.
2 States isn’t 3 States
One of the aspects of the last 50 years of negotiations, from the Camp David accords to the Oslo accords, to the Abraham accords, is the idea that Israel and Palestine are two countries in one region. But, that’s clearly not how the “truth on the ground” is being handled.
The governments of Egypt and Israel have closed the border with Gaza. That wasn’t true of either country until 2005 and it was Israel that began to blockade and cordon off Gaza. Egypt had a revolution in 2011 because the evil mass murderer Hillary Clinton and her evil overlord Barack Obama were unable to keep the truth from coming out about how much they hated everyone in the Arab world and wanted them to suffer. Wikileaks released a lot of not-very-diplomatic cables from the USA state department. Which is why Barack Obama, the filthy swine, has a determination to torture Julian Assange to death. It’s also why Obama personally attacked the International Society for Individual Liberty for translating Kerry Pearson and Ken Schoolland’s “Philosophy of Liberty” video into Arabic and getting 1.2 million views for it between 2008 and 2010.
As a result of the Egyptian revolution, the border with Gaza was opened in 2011 and trade and commerce flowed relatively unhindered. This situation was hated by Obama, his hench-woman Clinton, and all of the neo-con scum of the world, especially the likes of Victoria Nuland. So they worked very hard to overthrow the elected government of Egypt and in 2014 installed their hard line evil monster Abdel Fattah el-Sisi who is still in power. Obviously, with el-Sisi in charge, the border with Egypt was again closed, making life as miserable as possible for the inhabitants of Gaza, which is the goal of Obama, Clinton, Nuland, and the hard line neo-conservative filth like Tony Blinken-manship.
This isn’t humane, decent, or rational. You cannot pretend to want peace with people with whom you won’t allow any trade and commerce. Gaza became an open air prison. You cannot have peace with prisoners, you are necessarily in a state of war with them. The most you can hope for is that the prisoners expect some process for their eventual release. Otherwise, they are not, in fact, prisoners as in a jail or prison, but slaves. And nothing in any of the accords allows for Israel to make a death camp or a slave labour camp in Gaza.
I will, at this point, be called an “anti-semite” by certain people, and perhaps banned by the “Anti-Defamation League” that gets paid to smear rebellious people. I’m actually not at all anti-semitic. First off, semitic people include Palestinians. It’s a term relating to the people of the Levant in Southwest Asia, and it is not exclusively a term meaning “Jewish.” We have a bunch of words for “Jewish” such as “Judæan,” “Hebrew,” and “Israelite.” I use Israelite in reference to Jacob, also known as Israel, and not in reference to the people of the country of Israel, who are Israeli, and who are not exclusively Jewish persons. Yes, there are Arabic persons in Israel, deal with it.
Second, I am ethnically Jewish. My dad’s mom, Istalia Rhine Davidson, was entirely Jewish, and since she was a Jewish woman that makes her son, my dad, a Jewish man, by the traditions of Judaism the culture. You can look it up. Now, my mom wasn’t Jewish. She was born into a Catholic family but turned away from the Catholic faith owing to some experiences, including a particular spiritual experience. She raised me and my brothers as an agnostic, telling people who asked that she believed that agnostic “means that I don’t know if there is a God and I don’t think you know either.” Which means that I am only half Jewish. It also means that when I went to Columbia University I was accepted by the Jewish community there. So, no, I am not anti-semitic.
For further clarity, or lack thereof, I should point out that my dad’s dad was Scots. Davidson is a Highland clan from around Inverness. Tulloch castle was one of our redoubts. I am myself not a member of an organised religion, I’m part of the religious society of the friends of Jesus, the people known as Quakers, and we’re not at all organised. I am entirely Christian, of the sort who prays a complete rosary of 15 decades every evening as well as the 12 years daily devotion of St. Bridget. I believe that hearing the words of Jesus and doing them is a set of obligations on those who call ourselves Christian. I’ve written on the topic.
So, to review, the two-country approach to the Israeli-Palestinian “problem” is to have two countries, and not three. Putting a huge fence and wall around Gaza and blockading its sea ports and preventing humanitarian aid from reaching the people of Gaza and cutting off their electricity and food and water is inconsistent with Gaza being a part of the country of Palestine. If you look at the territory of Palestine, which includes Gaza and the West Bank of the Jordan river, you see two completely different territories, with no link connecting them. They have two completely different governments.
Hamas, which governs Gaza, was probably created in part by the Israeli security service (aka “deep state”) Mossad. It is heavily financed by Qatari billionaires. You might want to look into these things.
The Palestinian Authority which ostensibly governs the West Bank is a politically separate dictatorship under the power of Mahmoud Abbas and his “Fatah” political party. They don’t seem to be enthusiastic about Hamas controlling Gaza, but they also aren’t exactly cozy with the Israeli government. But boy they can sure spend the international aide money they get every month. For a while the funds sent by the USA, EU, UN, and other outfits went to the Palestinian Authority but after 2006, they go directly to Abbas who spends his billion dollars (plus) every year to thwart individual liberty throughout the West Bank and conspire to keep the blockade up against Gaza.
Now, if Israel’s government, the hard line vicious fascist successors in interest to the Irgun known as the “Likud” party, were actually even moderately interested in peace with the Palestinian people, they would have provided an open corridor for trade and commerce between Gaza and the West Bank, as well as between Gaza and Lebanon, as well as between Gaza and Jordan, as well as between Gaza and Syria, and they would lobby to have the Egyptian government of the mass murderer el-Sisi open the border with Egypt. Gaza would also be open to the sea and be able to have open air travel with other countries in the region and throughout the world. It could be a “Hong Kong” in the 1950s sense of the term.
But, as we all know, the Likud don’t want peace. They want genocide. And they always have. You can find it in their charter of origin. You can find it in their speeches. You can do the research, because you might as well get used to it. I’m not going to coddle you.
While we are on the subject of a two-country “solution” to the problem of Israeli settlers occupying the property of Palestinians and murdering as many Palestinians as they can, I would suggest a bill of rights be implemented. One with teeth. Providing for freedom to assemble, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to certain kinds of justice such as trial by jury, confronting in person the witnesses against you (who should not be anonymous, ever), and requiring warrants for entry into homes or computer systems or personal papers. Naturally, all Israelis and all Palestinians would have the same rights, being the same kind of human being. There are no races and it is racist to say there are. There are no “black” people, there are people who have a different complexion due to various historical and prehistoric circumstances. We inter-breed. We’re all one species. Get over it.
Now, you won’t necessarily agree that having freedom, commerce, and highway access to the different parts of Palestine will bring about peace in Gaza. But, you haven’t exactly given the plan a fair shot, have you? So, that’s my two-country solution.
I’ve been careful to avoid using the phrase “two state solution” because I am not a statist. I am a monarchist, and the monarch is Jesus Christ, king for all eternity, chosen by God to rule and reign, to judge the living and the dead. The peoples of Islam recognise Jesus Christ as the Messiah, by the way, and, yes, they worship the same God. The Hebrew word for God and the Greek word for God and the Latin word for God - any of which would have been used in His ministry by Jesus Christ, is in none of those instances “God.” You are comfortable having English speakers refer to God by the word “God” and you can be comfortable having Arabic speakers refer to God by the Arabic word “Allah” or not, as you see fit. I don’t really mind if you have a bigotry toward the Arabic language, it’s not much fun.
I don’t think Mahmoud Abbas ought to be allowed to keep any money. I think the Palestinian people ought to rise up and put him on trial for negligence, greed, and corruption. The same for the leadership of Hamas, whomsoever they might be. I don’t expect these things, but I would encourage them if there were any signs of them getting started.
Nor do I think the Likud government ought to be allowed to keep power. Everyone in a position of authority within that political party and within the current Israeli government ought to be put on trial for war crimes. They have committed atrocities. These include shooting their own people during the 7 October 2023 atrocities by Hamas. It is very bad form to blow up the homes of hostages, but the IDF did so and they ought to be individually and severally charged with war crimes, investigated, and prosecuted. I amuse myself in supposing that the international criminal court in the Hague might be useful in this respect, but I suspect it is entirely pusillanimous, corrupt, evil, and useless.
Which brings us to happy point number two.
Love Thy Neighbour
It’s a commandment. And it wasn’t first uttered by Jesus. You can find it all through the Old Testament as we call it. Jesus was simply continuing a great tradition of understanding that the Hebrew faithful had been aware of for centuries. Love God with your whole heart, soul, spirit, and energy. Love your neighbour as yourself. These are the laws and the prophets, the rest is commentary.
Of course, you have to understand who your neighbour is. To some people, their neighbour is only people they want to choose. But it doesn’t work that way. God chooses. The people around you are your neighbours, and it is your obligation to love them whether you want to or not. It does you no good to claim that they aren’t people, either, because that kind of bigotry is just idiotic. And idiocy isn’t a good look.
I would encourage you to read all of the words of Leviticus 19, especially verses 9 to 18, and especially these words, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.” It doesn’t get more commandment than that, friend.
Now, taxation is theft. Eminent domain is theft. And stealing the land of your neighbour isn’t love. So, you should not only cut all that out yourself, you should withdraw your consent from any “government” that does those things. Otherwise you aren’t actually doing the work of loving your neighbour as yourself. Choices have consequences.
Choices have consequences is one of the ways of saying “karma.” And if you would rather be dogmatic, be advised that karma might run over your dogma.
While we are reviewing scripture, let’s take a brief look at some of the reasons why the Likud party extremists who want to blow up the al-Aqsa mosque and prevent the worship of God at that location are wrong. I note that while God very clearly allowed the Romans to destroy the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70, God also very clearly allowed the building of a prayer hall and mosque and the Dome of the Rock between AD 634 and AD 715 where God has received the prayers of the Ishmaelites, the followers of the teachings of Islam.
You are hereby encouraged to read the whole of Hosea chapter 6 which makes mention of Jesus being restored on the third day. You should especially focus on Hosea 6:6 which says, “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” God doesn’t want burnt offerings, and if the extremists were to build a new temple on the temple mount to offer burnt offerings instead of the knowledge of God, they would not be accepted.
You are hereby encouraged to read the whole of Amos chapter 5. Especially from verse 22 to the end. “Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves. Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the Lord, whose name is The God of hosts.”
Nothing has changed from the days of Amos (~760 BC) and from the days of Hosea (~746 BC) . God does not accept your burnt offerings and your meat offerings. So the evil plan of the “third temple” extremists to blow up the al-Aqsa mosque and build a third temple to make meat offerings and burnt offerings instead of actually seeking the knowledge of God, instead of actually loving God, and actually being merciful, actually loving your neighbours as yourself, is doomed to failure. Destroying a place where God is worshipped every day and building a place to offer sacrifices that are not wanted and burnt offerings and meat offerings that are not accepted is a terrible sin.
Christian Zionism is heresy
All of which brings us to happy point number three that Christian Zionism is in fact heresy. The Christian Zionists purport that Jesus cannot return until the Jews are restored to the place in the Middle East given to the followers of Moses as the promised land. However, you can search the entire Bible for a single scripture which says any such thing and you won’t find it.
I’ve looked at all the usual listings offered by various Christian Zionists and they are utterly bereft of context in which Jesus insists that He won’t return unless the Jews are restored to the promised land of Moses. He never says so. Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from which He shall come to judge the living and the dead. He shall come to judge the living and the dead whether there are Jews in Israel or not.
Various passages in the Old Testament refer to the restoration of the tabernacle of David. Jesus Christ is the direct descendant of David. The resurrection of Jesus is the restoration of the tabernacle, the body, of David. Jesus is the one they pierced - the one the Roman soldiers pierced on order of Pontius Pilate, in deference to the demands of the crowds of people in Jerusalem. Jesus is restored.
Christian Zionists who seek to breed a red heifer are denying that Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice. Christian Zionists who demand the building of a Third Temple refuse to accept that Jesus Christ is the temple of the living God, that the power of the Holy Spirit brings the living God within each of us who believe and are baptised in water and in the Holy Spirit. These denials are heresy.
Jesus is the Messiah
Christianity is based on the fundamental understanding, the basic truth, that Jesus is the Messiah foretold by the prophets of the Old Testament. Nothing that I have found anywhere in Christian literature nor in the Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, or epistles of the saints says anything to the contrary. Even the people of Islam in their sacred literature, acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
God has all the power in the universe. After all, God the Father Almighty is the creator of the heavens and the earthly realm of this universe. God is therefore able to send as many saints and prophets and paladins as He sees fit to teach and prophesy and lead His people. God has sent many martyrs to teach the truth, and the people of Israel as well as many other people have chosen to defy God by killing those who were sent. Jesus lamented that Jerusalem was always killing God’s prophets.
The Jewish people of today may search for “Moshiach” and for all I know there are going to be additional prophets sent to them. I believe that Jesus Christ is the truth, the life, and the way. Those who seek the Father should hear the teachings of Jesus and do them. Amen.
Sixty Years Ago
The cia, fbi, and corrupt military killed John Fitzgerald Kennedy on 22 November 1963, exactly sixty years ago today. They did so deliberately because JFK wanted to restore sound money, because he issued silver certificates without the Feral Reserveless scheme, and because he wanted peace in Vietnam and with Russia.
In 1962, JFK said, “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” The cia, fbi, and the military industrial financial pharmaceutical complex murdered JFK. Therefore they must be entirely destroyed.
They must be cast out both root and branch. The buildings at Quantico and Langley must be torn down until not one brick stands atop another, the ground there must be sown with salt, and monuments to their millions of victims must be erected in the centre of the dead ground where they once stood. Every man and woman working for the fbi, the cia, the five biggest banks, the major pharmaceutical companies, and the military contractors must be put on trial for treason, murder, theft, and corruption. Or there can be no peace on Earth in our day.
It is time we were about our Father’s work.
I learn so much reading your posts. Happy Thanksgiving!
